Dear Mr. President-Select: As the holiday season approaches, I want to take the time to wish you and yours the best possible Christmas. Of course, I feel certain that my best wishes are not needed; you have long had a talent for feathering your nest, frequently at the expense of the poor and the weak, and I'm confident you'll have everything you need to enjoy the coming holidays. There are, of course, many in this country, those who do not have your gift of lechery and theft, the poor and the middle class, who will no doubt be struggling to buy gifts for their children and loved ones. For this they can thank tax breaks for your rich friends and cronies, which have siphoned off funding for schools, hospitals, infrastructure and the like. Due in large part to your policies and the policies of your friends, like Ken Lay, my home state of California is on the verge of economic collapse, with other states almost certain to follow. But don't think of us. Don't think about those of your fellow Americans who earn less than a million dollars a year. Pay no mind to the poor and the desperate, those who are without medical insurance or a roof over their heads. I wouldn't want that to detract from your happy holidays. Then again, who am I kidding? You have never thought about those people, and you never will. Only the rich power brokers who helped you steal the Presidency mean anything to you. As for the rest of us, the true Americans, we know what we're hoping for, a new President and a just government. |
