FLYNT GETS SUED Congressman Bob Barr has sued Larry Flynt, James Carville and Bill Clinton, claiming that they conspired to intimidate him from performing his functions as a manager during the Clinton Impeachment hearings. Barr claims, through his legal representatives, The Judicial Watch, that Clinton and Carville provided Flynt with secret FBI documents designed to embarrass Barr. According to Barr, CIinton funneled the documents through Carville to Flynt, who then exposed them to the media. Flynt is being represented by his long-time general counsel, Paul Cambria, who says, "We believe this suit is baseless and factless, and we intend to demonstrate this in court." Flynt termed the lawsuit "frivolous," and denied any such collaboration with the former President and his advisor. Says Flynt: "This time, Barr has kicked the wrong dog. During the Impeachment hearings and trial in the Senate, I had absolutely no such contact with the White House or their operatives, Including James Carville. I had my own investigative team that dealt with this matter. Apparently, Bob Barr is looking for publicity because he's been out of the limelight for a while." |
